Cricket fans aren’t only fans of the sport. Most Cricket fans only support a single team or even a single player. This is why including team and player data is essential for your application. As a fan, I want to know who plays for my club and how they are doing.

To add matches to their calendar, fans need to know when their team plays. They want to go to the stadium or watch the game on television. However, those people still need your application after knowing when the matches occur. Let’s find out why!

3. Team rankings

I am going to my team’s match, and now I want to know where my team is ranked in the league. So, I need team rankings for that. That way, I can compare my team with the opposing team to get a feel of how the match will play out. Fans are always interested in knowing which teams are the best. Therefore, they will check the ICC rankings, or in the future your rankings.

1. Livescore App

Yes, a livescore application is very popular among sports fans. They always want to know who is playing, which team is more likely to win the match (based on odds or statistics) and which team or player scores.

2. Fantasy game

This idea is fantastic. Fantasy games are very popular among football fans. Being able to create a winning team or predict the best XI is the perfect way to engage your users. To create a fantasy game, you will need player statistics and ratings, among other things.

 3. Odds Portal

Betting is hot. People like to earn money by betting on their favourite sports. Sports betting is something most fans have done at least once in their lives. Many fans are going a step further. They want to compare the odds of different bookmakers to create their ultimate bet.

4. Predictions

Another excellent idea is to predict the future based on data and science. People are always looking for ways to beat the bookmakers. The previous idea is ideal for combining with predictions. You can build an application to make predictions of the big leagues and matches like the Premier League, Champions League, and World Cup.

The Prediction API includes over 900 leagues.

 5. Statistics

The concept of displaying statistics in your application is excellent. Sports fans and data freaks always look into these statistics to discuss who’s better (Messi or  Ronaldo). Even professional football clubs discuss players’ statistics to decide who to bring to their club. They require more than just statistics. However, it shows that professionals even use this idea.

6. Bonus idea

Obviously, there are more business opportunities to be found in sports data. As you may guess, we cannot list everything. We have over 20,000 customers, all of whom have their own ideas. If you’re reading this, you’re already on our brand new Sportmonks website! Our new website has a more contemporary style, which better fits our current goals and vision.

Apart from having improved the look and feel of our website, we also have made changes that are relevant to all our customers. In this blog, we will inform you what the changes mean for you.

Before, we discuss the new changes. Note that as an existing customer with an existing subscription, you won’t have to do anything. Your current active subscription remains as is, with the same price you were paying before. . Read more below.

Changes to plans

The most important change is that we have decided to reform our paid plans. If you choose to change your current plan to one of our new plans.

Football

Euro plan
The Euro plan has been changed as you look to the league coverage. A few extra leagues have been added, but also a few leagues have been removed. Check the table below.

World Plan
As you can see, the World Plan has been significantly expanded with 50 more football leagues. The new list of World Plan Leagues can be found on our World Plan page.

Enterprise Plan

We also renamed the Pro plan to the Enterprise plan. Moreover, the Enterprise plan will be geared towards entrepreneurs looking to create professional sports business projects. An added feature of the Enterprise plan is that Sportmonks will be tuning the Enterprise plan to the needs of the customer. We’ll look together at what you’re creating and offer advice for the plan that best fits your project.

Note that for Cricket the plans will be the same, with the exception of the Pro plan being renamed to Enterprise plan.

There are no changes in our Formula One plans.

Add-ons

Moving onto the add-ons. Some of you may already have requested more API calls or made use of our Prediction API.

In 2021 you’ll have the option of manually editing your active subscription to include add-ons. For example, you have the Euro Plan Standard, but you would like to have extra API calls and the Prediction API. You no longer have to contact us, but can simply do this yourself in My Sportmonks.

Later in the year, we also hope to offer webhooks as our third add-on.

My Sportmonks

We have created a new environment for you to manage your plans, API calls, etc. This new environment has been given the name: My Sportmonks.
We migrated your old Sportmonks credentials, so you can simply log into the new environment with your old username and password.

My Sportmonks will have the same style as our website’s and will be much easier to navigate. New HUD, intuitive UI, and a slick design will help you create your dream application more easily.

The end goal of My Sportmonks is to provide you with the all tools and features you need to get started. My Sportmonks is live now, but still in its most basic form. Over the next months, we’ll be actively working on improving My Sportmonks as well as add new features.
